I've read most of the threads I can find concerning this, but figured I'd ask anyway. What are people's thought about the County Line 5ft rotary mower?

I have a Land Pride finish mower, but have lately been needing a brush hog instead, but don't necessarily need a high dollar one. I anticipate the finish mower will be used more often.

Sucks using a finish mower as a brush hog.

Found a John Deere rotary cutter for basically the same $800 range as the County Line one at Tractor Supply. Seems the older threads about Tractor Supply brought up King Kutter. Don't really care for the green rage, but if it's a better mower, why not.

Have thought also about spending a few hundred more for a good shape used Land Pride one also, so it would be orange. As stupid as that sounds..

By the way, this will be behind a L2501 that I have fallen in love with and use way more than I thought I would.

Thanks again for all of the help here

We are in different parts of the country but when I bought mine last month I researched the locally made and found they were in some cases made as well as the name brands and lower cost. Some make them in different colors. paid almost the same as a used one and got a 5 year gearbox warranty.

There is a Texas company near Houston named Modern Agricultural that makes brush hogs. I think at the 5 foot you get galvanized after welding. I have the 4 foot version and it is well made.

You might want to look into flail mower and get one to take the place of two ( finish and brush hog). The require a lot of PTO HP though. But less (no?) winrows than brush hog.
