Hi,

I need to repair a tyre and to do that want to take off a front wheel.

The front wheels aren't bolted to the hub as one would normally expect. Instead there is an exterior circlip on the hub with a couple of washers behind it which seem to be retaining the wheel.

Even after taking them all off I can't remove the wheel. It looks like it should just slide off (the tractor is obviously up on stands). It may just be seized but before I get medieval on it i wanted to check if I'm missing anything.

Thanks,
Tom

The BX2200 that I have has bolts through the wheel holes that bolt to the hub.

To make it easier to line up and hold the wheel the center of the hub is exactly the same size as the large center hole in the wheel. Sometimes a bit of rust, dirt, or other debris can cause this center raised feature to not release the wheel/tire.

The best solution is to rap on the edge of the tire rim around in a circle until it pops loose. If you use a hammer then use a block of wood to protect the rim.

I really don't understand your description of how the tire (tyre) is attached to the hub with a circlip. It may be a spacer to widen the track. A photo would help.

The arrangement you have on your tractor is that depicted in the parts manual and that I have for the rear wheels - a ring of bolts which attach the wheel to the hub.

I'm away from home at the moment but will post a pic when I get home. I appreciate it's hard to understand what I'm describing. I'd never seen a wheel attached this way before.

what you are describing seems similar to my Kubota TG1860.
there are 2 sealed ball bearing sets, one at the outside, one at the inside of the wheel hub.
to get the wheel off, the bearings must slide off of the axle shaft, but an accumulation of rust will impede this.
I used a rubber mallet to persuade the wheel off.
