I have a L3800 and use a power rake and tiller on it. I did some landscape work for my dealer and am thinking of getting the Land Pride 3 point quick hitch as part of the payment. I mentioned it to my salesman and he said with the quick hitch, it will set everythign back about 4" and with PTO powered equipment, my current PTO shafts may be too short to work with the quick hitch. Has anyone added a quick hitch after having PTO powered equipment with the pto shafts already cut to size? If so, did you need new shafts or was the current one long enough? With the plastic guards on the shafts, its kind of a pain to see how much extra room I have.

Thanks

Rob

I've heard anything over 6 inches overlap is OK. I've also heard an extended length 50% over collapsed length is proper.

Or you could add an extension to your PTO shaft.

I put one of these on my PTO shaft for just that reason. The arms of my L3200 stuck out about 4" longer than the old L185.
