There are also patches of low lying brush and pricker bushes. My neighbor has a brushhog he said I could borrow. Would that cut through this kind of vegetation?

A brush cutter will definitely cut through that. You will want to walk through it first (if that is possible) to find any holes, humps or stuff that you want to avoid. The first cut should be as high as possible and then you will want to drag out any large diameter logs then cut shorter. The brush cutter may be able to shred the logs if they are rotten, but chunks can come ou

And do they make a small brush mower that you can walk behind, for places that I couldn’t pull a brushog through with the tractor?
See this type of walk behind mower Billy Goat. I know DR POWER also makes a similar walk behind and there are some smaller pull behind rough cut mowers.

There are walk-behind brush cutters available. However, you may be able to do what you want by backing a rotary cutter in. That's what we often do to get in areas with tall/large brush.

This is probably a dumb question, and maybe doesn't belong in this forum, but I had a quick-hitch attachment for my old B2601 tractor. It is what I used to hang suitcase weights on when I didn't have the backhoe on it. When I was reading about some of the PTO woodchippers, they said they could attach using a quick-hitch, but I am assuming the one for my B2601 is probably too small for my L6060 tractor. I'll get a different one if needed, but do I get a Cat 1 or Cat 2? Which is correct for the L6060?

I don't know if what you have on your B2601 will work, but a Land Pride QH16 will work just fine. On the tractor side it's all CAT 1, so if your L6060 is like my MX6000 and M6060 you'll need CAT 2 to CAT 1 bushings, and on the implement side it's CAT 1 on the lift arm pins and CAT 3 on the top link pin.

This table might help.

Thanks for the chart. Later today I will post a picture of the quick hitch that I used on my B2601

Your L6060 could have either a CAT1 or CAT2 3PH from my quick research. The hitch you have would be CAT1 sized, so there’s a 50/50 chance it would work.
Ken, it would work on the tractor side, but would require CAT 2 to CAT 1 bushings if the QH uses CAT 1 pins.

Here is a photo of the telescoping arms for the 3-pt hitch. Also, the quick-hitch I have clearly says CAT-1.

The interface to the tractor is CAT 1 so that means 3/4" top pin and 7/8" bottom pins that connect the QH to the tractor. Your L6060 is a CAT 2 3-point so you'll need bushings to connect to the QH but that's how my QH10 is.

Speeco and GWTC say "you don't need bushings to connect to CAT 1 implements". The hook for the top pin sure looks bigger than CAT 1 which is 3/4" but perhaps it's a tropical illusion.

From GWTC. If the those dimensions are accurate, the Speeco sure isn't a bushingless CAT 1 QH for implements.

"This Category 1 E-Hitch fits most Category 1 tractors and is for use with Category 1 equipment. Includes two lower pins, no top pin.
  • Currently Available Only in Red
  • Inside Dimensions: 27 1/4″
  • Outside Dimensions: 29 1/2″
  • Lower Hook Slot Inside Diameter: 1″
  • Top Link Slot Inside Diameter: 1 3/8″
  • Bottom to Top Hook Height: 14 1/2 – 17 1/2″
  • Weight: 70 lb
  • No maximum lift capacity. If your tractor can lift it, then so can the Speeco.
  • Lots of adjustability between lower links and top links to fit a wide variation of attachments.
  • Bonus! Both lower pins are included. 3/4″ TOP PIN IS NOT INCLUDED. Uses a top pin like any other 3-point attachment."

Good day. I am a happy owner of WM. It’s done everything I have asked. I shopped WM and Woodmaxx and it came down to responsiveness for WM for me. WM customer service won my purchase. I don’t regret it, but I also don’t have experience with the woodmaxx. They sure seem similar from appearances though. I don’t think there is a bad choice.

From a user standpoint thinking you could identify an advantage to serviceability for the user (grease points, ease of changing blades, parts availability, or ease with cleaning out a jam).

Whether you buy a chipper or not, from the pic you shared, I agree with comment from @JasonW to hire someone with compact loader/mulching head. I’ve done that multiple times at our place up north and while it’s not free, IMO it saves a tremendously an amount of damage and risk to your machine. Something to think about. It’s done in a day or so and no pile of spoils to deal with.

After having recently purchased a Wallenstwin PTO winch I would absolutely shop then as well n then consideration…they make very well engineered products after having put my hands on them in person. I would not hesitate to consider their products. They have really good customer service IME as well.

They ALWAYS omit the "except on the top pin" when says 'no bushings needed'. Why people make such a big deal out of needing bushings is beyond me.
