PTO lever has become increasingly tougher to move. Still engages it, but sticky. Worried it’s going to become a problem. It’s the entire range of motion. After tractor gets used for a while, it loosens up and isn’t an issue.

I’ve looked for an obvious place to lubricate / grease and nothing jumps out. Any suggestions?

I’ll bump this once and then let it fade away...

I did try to clean and oil the place where the lever meets the tractor. Really dirty and not sure how good I got it. Didn’t seem to make a difference. Concerning that it gets better after tractor is run for a half hour or so.

If anyone has suggestions it would be appreciated.

This will become more of a problem until it won't move at all! Due to the way your tractor is built it is a bit of a challenge to fix. the shaft that goes into the case is sealed with an o-ring but there is a short section of the shaft that is outside the o-ring that is subject to corrosion. the best way to fix it is to remove the shaft and clean it and the housing then reassemble with good grease. It would be a half hour job if the machine frame wasn't in the way! The correct fix is to remove the transmission so the PTO shaft will come out and that is a lot of work! I repair them by cutting enough of the frame away with an angle grinder so I can pull the shaft out. The shaft is just a short ways into the case and connects to nothing in there so you can pull it out and clean it up then replace it with no issues.

Thanks for the response eserv. Not what I was hoping to hear, but I appreciate the info.
