So I have recently got into pulling with My G5200, yes I know the 5200 is a hydro and there's a reason no one pulls hydros. But I completed my first pull with it and the rear end held together. The engine is running a gt12 turbo (its honestly way to big, a gt06 is really more appropriate) it also has a couple injector mods, long story short Im getting close to doubling factory power and I couldn't find anything on how much these rear ends can take (i am very open to the idea of swapping in the 3 speed from the 4200 if it can take it) any help would be appreciated here i know the cub tractors have the pulling game all tied up but i want to see how the orange outlaw will do....

The hydro in the G5200 is EATON model 11. It is rated for 20HP max.

If you are doubling the factory 14HP of the D600 engine.... this means you are close to the max.

Here are some links to the EATON webpage for the model11

Yikes it looks like I should look into a swap. Any idea how the 3 speed transaxle in the G3200/4200 handle extra power. I know they say the Cub transaxle can handle about 35 if you get the right one but information is pretty scarce on the limits of these little orange tractors. I'm not too worried about the engine holding up, I've seen the bottom end handle around 50-60 in pulling just fine, worst case scenario i blow the d600 then build another with billit internals.

Sorry - I have no info regarding the manual xMission on these little G series tractors...but I m sure you know the way to find out. :) (try it)

BTW: I think it is cool you are trying to do 'pulling' with G5200. I would love to hear how it works out for you. By looking at the girth of the rear-axle, it appears like it is bulletproof.

I know there were at least 2 different rear-housings on these. On mine, the axle-bearings are 'extended' out from the pumpkin so the distance between the bearing to the wheel is less than 6 inches on each side. This adds HUGE amount of stiffness/strength to the rear end....some of the g5200s I have seen do not have the bearing-housings extended like this. (making the distance from bearing-to-wheel over 10 inches)
