2015 L3901 with about 82 hours on it. I've had various other codes on this unit before, never had a problem clearing the code (both buttons to enter code clear Mode, right button to change to Mode B, then clear). However this time I can get to the code clear mode (which tells me both buttons are working), but then it stays in Mode A which obviously doesn't allow to clear the code. What causes this?
P0087: online searches say various things related to fuel pressure. I read all the forums, FB, anything I could find on the subject over the last week or so. Most folks are able to clear the code or worst case replace fuel filter & clean bowl, then clear it. One other guy reported similar scenario to mine (can't get to Mode B) but answered me that he's been running it like that for a year. I'd rather not do that.
So, I do have the WSM and this is the relevant error section
Now what I don't have is the "Diagnosis manual (9Y110-02420) " that it says under "reference page". Searched high and low for that and can't seem to find it anywhere online. Does someone have the relevant pages of this manual? Any help on that would be appreciated.
So based on other folk's experiences, I've already cleaned the bowl (it was virtually spotless), replaced the fuel filter, and pulled the line between the electromagnetic pump and the sub-tank to clean it, and it looked as clean as any perfectly working fuel line I've ever removed before... so I don't think there's "gunk in the supply".
Tractor runs ok at low or mid RPM, however I can tell the rpm/power can't get to 100% when I move the throttle up. Occasionally it'll shut down after 10-15 minutes. I haven't run it much with this code however.
Really hesitant to take this to the dealer... a few years ago my brother jump started it and (according to the dealer) fried the ECU and that was a $3500 bill. I feel like they hold you hostage for the smallest stuff.
I'm an ex-airline mechanic (Boeing, Airbus) so I can read, follow directions, troubleshoot and wrench with the appropriate info. Finding the info is what I'm having trouble with. Any assistance is appreciated!
