I bought an older L 295dt this summer. I have used it all summer with no issues, I got on it today and started to pull out of the shed when I noticed oil spraying out. I shut it off. The oil is spraying from a boss on the oil pan behind the oil filter. I have no idea what is supposed to go in the boss.
Searching the ground I found a small piece of steel shaft thats smooth and round, not sure if that fell out or not. Its pouring rain and hard to see if the hole is threaded or not.
Anyone know what the purpose of the boss is or what plugged it?
thanks

It is called an oil galley. Basically a hole drilled in the block to allow oil to go where it needs to be. On some Kubota engines the plugs are threaded others are a press fit plug. Sounds like yours is a press fit plug that got loose and fell out.
