Hey folks. I'm trying to change the oil in my kubota x1140 and the owners manual isn't making it easy on me. I'm struggling to figure out what they mean by "except external EGR" and models with and without EGR. Seems like they could just tell me what type of oil to use in the machine. I have some rotella t6 i used in the tractor which I thought was good for diesel engines but apparently it isn't that simple. Can you guys tell me what oil I should use for the diesel RTV?

Thanks for the help

Shniggysaurus... there’s another forum which deals with RTV issues and this was discussed.
Basically, the CJ oils should not be used in engines with external EGRs because they do not meet the emmisions-control issues for those engines. For any RTV you can use any oil which meets a later standard, such as CK oils. Your Rotella should be fine.
