Grease makes a disgusting ugly mess, since with a blade you are constantly moving dirt.
Short and sweet ... I mean no surprise :)

I have a bunch of paraffin, which someone else suggested.

For the people who cautioned against using grease ... what's the downside of using grease? It seems like an obvious question but I'd like to know what your actual reasoning is.
Grease in dirty conditions becomes contaminated with debris and becomes
a abrasive.
