After a few late nights out bush hogging last month I quickly realized that the lights on the L3200 leave a lot to be desired. The headlights did not allow me to see if I had missed anything in the field I was cutting and I knew it would only get worse with the upcoming time change.
After several hours of research I decided upgrade to led light bars. I knew if I strategically placed the lights I could provide ample light with just a few lights.
I started by installing a 20" LED bar mounted to the ROPS. The LED that I chose is rated at 7200 lumens at 72watts. The focus of the bar is set at 30 degrees in the center section and 60 degrees on the outer LEDS. This allowed me to see in front very well. The light is amazing. The picture below gives you an idea of the light.
My brother at 6'6" is that gray dot in the center at over 200ft away and he is very well lit.
This worked well for the front but was no good for the rear light.to fix this I found additional LED lights again on Amazon rated at 1500 lumens at 36 watts. This light has the same features as the large front but is much smaller at only 7". This was mounted under the plastic toolbox that Kubota is so proud of.
The lighting is perfect as it allows me to see in the rear as much as needed with the rotary cutter or finish mower both at 72"
My next addition were the switches needed to control these lights. I took a cue from another member here and mounted a set of 3 switches on the left behind the range selector one for the main led light, one for the rear lights, and one for the horn so my lady knows when to bring me a drink.
I purchased the switch from a company called over the river and through the woods. They were really easy to work with and even offer to customize the lettering on the switches.
All in all I am very happy with the results.
