Been living on a 3 acre homestead for 13 years. Been struggling with over 2 acres of grass with an old JD318 and a 50" deck for years, and before that a push mower. With the wife's wonderful money managing skills, and a bit of my mother's inheritance, we were close to having enough, until we went to the local Kubota dealership and found out the unit we wanted was going to cost us $39K CAD.
During the last 7 years or so, I had a neighbor who has a BX25 with FEL, Backhoe, mmm, bagger, and front snow blower. Been envious ever since, and have used it on many occasions. Even digging out around my basement. I knew what I wanted, but couldn't afford it, and didn't want to finance, cause we got debt free and wanted to stay that way.
Just got the mom's inheritance and looked on Kijiji (like Craigslist only better). There was two BX25 for sale. Called both guys, and one of them, was a 2014, garage stored, with only 47 hours on it! Not even its first oil change. A BX25D with FEL, Backhoe, front Snowblower, clip on pallet forks, and 3pt hitch kit. Only $20K. I went to the dealer and bought the MMM, and bagger, along with a pail of UHT, Gallon of engine oil and filters for another $10k with tax (13%, Ouch!)
Happier than an orange pig in the mud. I uncrated the MMM, put together the bagger kit, and am all set. Haven't used the bagger yet (been too wet), and have had to do some modding to it because the bolts to the top were not aligned properly, and stretched the plastic all up. Not to mention the hinge was not lined up either. The MMM was missing a bolt because there was welding spatter in the hole, and then powder coated over it. The poor guy down the assembly line couldn't insert a bolt, without having to drill out the hole first. So he left it. I guess usually the dealer fixes these things up, but I got mine still in the crates.
Did its first oil changes, Wow those painted on filters are a bugger to get off. Full grease job. Noticed that the inner tie rod end boots were bad (one cracking, the other torn) so I have purchased and received some aftermarket non-oem boots from a guy in NC on a recommendation from Wildfire here.
One other problem noticed, probably due to lack of use, and drying out in a garage all its life, was that the dash urethane seal is open, I get moisture under the glass on my gauges, cause my 'bota has been unfortunately outdoors ever since I got it. (Garage home still needs to be cleaned up to make room for it.)
I will post about the glass in another thread for help.
Anyway, hello to all here.
