Been working on a couple of acers for a pasture of sorts. Lots of roots but they are starting to break up. ANBO grapples should be in Friday I hope. Not sure what to plant any ideas? Soils are marginal at best, a little bit of top soil with silty loam just beneath.

If I could do it all over again, I'd have an Alaskan zip code.

Beautiful place you got there!

The second picture looks like it was taken from my back food plot except my ground is smoother

Yep some soil samples and first year and time of year do a broadcast cover crop, wheat, clover, greens etc. Now I am in east TN so your growing zone and crop is way different. But next year turn it all over and will enhance the soil. And hopefully this year provide a food source to enhance hunting.

Hey Orangeinalaska, down around Palmer they grow some mighty big pumpkins and other vegies.

Are there more than a couple hundred people in Gakona now?

When I drove up there from the lower 48 in February of 1984 and spent the night in Glennallen, I thought that that was a very lonely place where about all you could hear was the wind. In the summer with all the tourist it sure is different.
