Been reading on this site for a few weeks now. Wife and I have 20 acres of mostly grass and over the years we have owned Allis B, 9n ford, MF135, JD ‘H’, farmall M, Super C and B. All were over 40 years old when I bought them. Now I am 65 years old and decided to by new. Have a JD and Kubota dealer close by and so it came down to a JD 4044M or L4802D. Always thought I would buy a JD if new since liking the old JD and Farmalls. My neighbor has a l4060 I like and friends who have had Kubotas for years have had really good luck with them so I went with the L4802DT. I prefer the clutch over the HST, just my preference. It will replace the MF135 diesel. Hope the l4802 will be as good as the MF. Still have the farmall M and Super C, I just like the old stuff. I am sure I will have many questions in the weeks to come learning the regen and other new thing. Thanks for reading. I have read the manual and watched videos on the L4802.

Welcome to the forum. You selected right going Kubota. Once you get used to your new tractor, you will agree it was the right decision. Have no regrets buying mine. Enjoy and good luck.

MF135 is a challenging act to follow, but I think you’ll like the L4802. My dealer told me to keep the RPMs at 1800 minimum for any work and shut down if stopping for more than a few minutes rather than idling for extended periods. That felt weird for quite a while but it seems to keep the regens at reasonable intervals.
