Just a quick introduction.
I’ve been lurking on this site (and the other tractor forums) for the past couple of years. We’ve moved out of the big city into Northern New Mexico, and have recently purchased a new house on a couple of acres right on the San Juan River. In September I bought a new Kubota BX25. What a great toy / tool! I’ve also got a Land Pride 48” blade, and a Land Pride 42” tiller. I have a lot of work planned for the tractor once the weather warms up, and the snow melts.
We’ll be putting in a 20 x 40 foot pond with a waterfall, a big sprinkler system (covering .75 acres), prepping for grass planting, and a 50 x 100 foot garden. We are also looking at grape vines, trees, large decorative rocks, etc, etc, …
I’m also on the irrigation committee in our housing development here, and will help maintain / expand the above and underground irrigation system.
Our ground here is very high alkali content and heavy clay, so I’ll have to add a lot of manure and top soil to it before it’s ready to plant. The tiller is going to get a big workout!
I’ll try to post some photos soon, and am looking forward to asking a lot of questions.
