After researching all options as well as other brands I have stayed with the LX2610 open station with an aftermarket cab with removable doors and hatch. I prefer to be out in the open and only require shelter in the winter when clearing snow. I found that the factory cab model puts the hoe even farther out and it would be difficult to use both loader and bh controls at the same time if stuck in the mud. Also one can easily readjust the loader if required from the bh seat. I do not like the fact that the cab gives very little natural ventilation without completely removing the doors (with difficulty) and the rear hatch only partially opens. Even in a car you can open the windows if the A/C fails. Would be different if I was working the fields all day in the summer but I am mostly in the woods where it is always cooler.
Looked at the John Deere but I would have to go up to the 3 series to get a decent backhoe. I preferred their loader mount and pedal configuration but are considerably more costly.
Kioti had a decent machine and were considerably less money but I did not like the hoe mount that added more length to the machine. The fact that the fuel tank was behind the seat certainly complicated this,

Before I bought my B2650, I took a look at Deere options. I already pretty well knew I was going Kubota, but I wanted to cover my bases and make sure I looked at some other options.

You're right on the 3 Series backhoe. I was looking at Deere 2 Series until I found out the 2 Series Deere used the same backhoe as the 1 Series. Another big deal breaker was I read and even heard from the Deere salesman that two loader functions at the same time was pretty tough at best with the Deere.

There were some aspects I liked about the Deere. The pedal setup wasn't one of them, haha. I strongly prefer the Kubota treadle over the side-by-side pedals. I think it's much more intuitive and easier to control, especially for really fine movements.
