MX4800 Draft

Hey Everyone,

Looking at adding draft control to my mx4800. Does anyone have access to the install guide. It looks to be about 300 bucks extra to install at the dealer and id rather save some money but want to make sure its nothing tooooo crazy .

Can you plse tell me why you want draft control?
Is your tractor a hydrostatic or gear transmission.
My dealer, with whom I have an excellent relationship, will give me WSM's.
He tells me just to bring a USB stick and in a few seconds it is on my stick from Kubota's library.

If your tractor is new and bought from a dealer, you might try asking the dealership owner if he will give you a WSM.

If your tractor is new, you might want to consider the warranty implications of doing work yourself.

I live out in the hill country and when im shredding it would be great with all the hills to have the 3point adjust to make shredding easier and save my neck.

New (18hrs) i haven't asked the dealer since anything that doesn't involve money usually takes FOREVER

I am pretty mechanically inclined and can handle most things but if its too complicated i will pay for it but if i can make an extra payment i would rather do that.

I don't know your particular Kubota model but in all the tractors I have worked on, draft control was for ground engaging implements such as a plow.

The movement of the plow through the soil caused a reaction force where the 3 pt top link was pushing against the top link mount on the tractor.

Depending upon the settings you had chosen, there were several holes in the pivoting top link attachment at the tractor to allow sensitivity adjustments by changing the leverage exerted against the tractor.

The amount of force the tractor felt at the upper link would cause the lift links to raise and lower to keep the the pulling load, i.e. Draft, reasonably constant.

Unless I am seriously not understanding your situation, I dont think draft control will meet your needs.

You have infinite speed control with your HST and position control with your 3 pt. A combination many farmers only dream of.

The hydraulic systems of most tractors are the system that cause the most grief to owners due to a lack of appreciation of the designs. Leave out or fail to install a shim and it does not work properly.
