So we closed on our new house - and my new to me BX2360 last week. Won't be officially moving in for a couple of weeks but I'm excited.

The prior owner told me he only has to fill the tank once a season to keep the 4 acre lot mowed. That just seems crazy to me - but I won't mind if it's true!

So can I expect insanely good mpg from this thing?

Someone else must have putting fuel in it too, or he has a bad memory! I get about 15 hours from a tank of fuel with mine.

My BX is about 12 to 15 hours on a tank depending on what the grass is like I do 5 acers, and it aint no golf course either :D, so you should be good to go. Find a local station that sells Off Road Diesel sometimes called dyed diesel. It will be cheaper, though it is the same fuel as on road diesel but your not paying road tax on it thats why it is dyed red, so the PoPo can tell if some out law is running it to avoid paying road tax. The main thing is to enjoy the little beasty but never and I mean NEVER let your wife see you smiling when your using it.
Have a grand Easter

Thanks guys. I figured an entire season on one tank was a bit optimistic on his part.

I think he is about right! If you live in the northern climate, where the mowing season is around 4 months, and you have less than an acre to mow.
I'm new to my 2008 BX24, and started with a full tank of diesel for winter using my snowblower. I have about 220' driveway, 16' wide and still have plenty of fuel in my tank. Granted we didn't have as much snow this year. I live in MI and won't be ready to mow for another week or so.
HAPPY SPRING!

MPG is used for vehicles. With Kubota they use SPG.

Check with the state revenue department for where you live to see about getting a refund for highway taxes on fuel used in motors not in use on highways and streets. Here in Washington you send in for a form/permit # and then you can get a refund for most of the taxes (well of course they need to keep a little bit). We have up to 13 months from the time of purchase to put in for the refund.

Between the new BX23S, my boat, house backup generator, other small gas powered tools, and quads I go through a lot of fuel that I get taxes back on.

It's worth checking out.
