I'm looking to add a rck60-30bb mid mount mower deck to our b2650. Is it possible to mow blackberries? I do it yearly with either a flail mower or a brush hawg (?)...though a mid mount would make for a more compact package.

Well yeah, I mowed Blackberry's and wild roses and even bamboo ( I hate that stuff) with the BX so yeah a 2650 would not be a problem with a MMM. How I did it, the deck all the way up, make your first pass SLOW, and depending how thick the patch is ,after the first pass take about have the with of the deck with each pass up and back. When you get them knocked down lower your deck and have another go at them. SLOWLY And By the by those stocks are hard on the cutting edge, so you might want to think about getting a second set of blades, to change out while you sharpen the others. J M H you understand

Thanks...slow it will be. Mostly low blackberries, some scotch broom...fortunately no bamboo...can't imagine that one.

Yeah the bamboo was left over from when my wife had her herb business and green houses, and someone want some, and the rest nobody wanted got planted.. Who knew that would be a PIA to get rid of, 20 years later and Im still trying to get rid of it.

Yes, you can do it with patience and care but your MMM is not designed for such and durability will be affected.

You could probably rent a rotary cutter (brush hog, rough cutter,…) to cut them low for the first time then use your MMM to maintain.
