I'm helping a friend, his Kibota M8200 2wd is leaking hydraulic oil out of a vent tube in the clutch/ transmission area. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Welcome to this forum
More than likely trans input shaft seal has failed. Does this tractor have Sync or hyd shuttle? I'll guess tractor will require a split between engine & clutch housings.

"Kibota"--isn't that the Chinese clone known for bad seals??? 🤣

I'm pretty sure it is, you know, the one with the ROPS that protects the engine because the operator is replaceable...

I don't know what this transmission is called, but it has a 4 speed shifter on the right, a high-low shifter on the left, and a mechanical F N R shifter on the left of the column.

That tractor has a synchronized 4 speed with non-synchronized 2 speed(hi-lo) with a synchronized reverser referred to by Kubota as a M8200DT.

I once owned a M4900DT with very similar drive train.

The M8200HD also fits OP's description, I think. It's a hydraulic shuttle.

Edit: there's also an M8200 two wheel drive with the same transmission as Tx Jim's.

OP, the model and serial numbers should be on a label on the left side of the frame.

That model has two potential leak points.

* Plug 030. On many Kubotas that plug is drilled and has a pin of some sort to serve as a tell-tale of leakage into the clutch case.

* Vent tube 130. Many Kubotas are vented off the rear axle housing instead of this. If this is where the 'leak' is, the fix may be much different.

I've posted the diagram for the HD model. The DT may be different.
