Working on flushing the coolant. Pulled the small lower rad hose as the manual says and found this plug in the connector? Is this right or should it be a flow through connector? Pictures of the part on line don't exist. I noticed the M6800 doesnt have this at all as it routes to the oil cooler vs the m8200 and m9000s route this house to the block.

I agree that is a very odd thing to find. It makes no sense to plug off a radiator hose like that. Why not just cap off at the radiator if you don’t need the flow??? And Kubota has one continuous hose between points on some M8200 models! And on some models that hose connects to the engine while on others it connects to an oil cooler (in the filter base).

But I don’t know what the part looks like! But the name of the part is “joint - drain” so that implies that it is used to drain the radiator and the block. See below. I believe you have that model tractor but you need to verify that is the correct model diagram. Please research all the listing for M8200 models and see which is the correct one for your tractor. The diagram below is the DT CAB version (I think).

I think that's supposed to be hollow. Have you tried to open it up?

I looked at all the M8200s and it loos like the ROPs version go from the radiator to the oil cooler. The cab'd versions go to the block and have this "connector"

I would assume that it is solid and is used as a drain point for the radiator on one side and engine on the other end.

You can call Messicks or your dealer and ask them. Messicks would probably be able to pull the part and look at it/send you a picture.

I think you are right. I've found 2 other posts on the internet referencing this.

I finished flushing the coolant and buttoned everything up the way I found it.
