Well I stopped by the local Kubota dealer the other day to pick up some accessories for my RTV and saw they got some new cab tractors in. They had three identical M7060HDC that I had to check out. I've wanted a bigger cab tractor for awhile now to be able to pull a tow behind rotary cutter and thought the M series would fit the bill. Seem to get more HP for the money compared to the Grand L series and also not sure if the Hydro transmission would be good for long days of mowing.
My home sits on roughly 6 acres that I maintain with a zero turn but the remainder of the property (40 acres) I keep cut down for now with a L3800 and a RC1260 which takes me forever. This year I was able to get a cattle farmer to cut some of my pastures for Hay which allowed a lessor work load on the L3800.
I must say the M7060 impressed me but I am not sure If I did buy one that I would go with the 8x8 transmission that these had. Think the 12x12 would be a lot better option and worth the extra money. With looking to the future of possibly farming the acreage I own and not just using the tractor to keep the brush down I might even want a larger machine to operate balers as well as other larger implements.
Out of all the M7040 owners and M7060 owners what are you using your tractors for most of the time and do you run round balers or mower conditioners on your tractors?
