M4700 hydraulic pump replacement question

I just replaced the hydraulic tandem pump on my M4700 with an ebay Chinese(we ll see how long it lasts). It wasn t an exact fit but made it fit eventually. The pump head box where the pinion that turns the pump is located had oil in it when I took off the old one. Do I have to refill it and how do I do that? Not sure about the correct nomenclature so I included a picture. Much obliged.

Not to worry. It will take care of itself. Just check your engine oil dipstick after you run it a few minutes.

Having issues with hydraulics myself on m4700. Hydraulics went out. Relaxed fluid with super utd 2. Ran tractor for 5 minutes or so and tried hydraulics with no luck. After 10 minutes loud screeching sound. Hydraulic pump feels very hot

Not good. Id guess the pump os either starved for oil or deadheaded. Both can be fatal.
