Got my LX3310 a couple of days ago and have noticed it will start with the range lever set in L. My BX2200 won't start unless it is in the N position and thought the LX3310 should act the same way. The manual says to put the lever in the N position but I forgot and the tractor started. Is this normal for the LX3310?

yes, it's normal. It will start in any "gear" position.

Wow! Not disputing this, but I find it amazing with all the emphasis Kubota seems to be putting on safety, that this would be normal. Kind of blows me away actually...

EDIT: Unless you mean with the clutch depressed. Then I would say it is normal, as that is the way my B2910 works and I do not find that an issue.

Normal.

However it WON'T start if the tredal pedal is not in "neutral".

What "clutch" is this? There is no clutch on an LX model.

Completely normal.

All of my Kubota HST tractors will start in any range but the HST pedal must be in Neutral (except for the B1750 which has a clutch that must be disengaged in order to crank).

My B2910 HSD tractor has a clutch. IF no clutch, it amazes me that Kubota would allow the tractor to start if not in neutral. They do not do this on my BX2200, which has no clutch. It must be in neutral to start.

MY B2910 will also not start if the directional pedal is not centered (or PTO engaged). But maybe with the with LX they feel the seat presence switch eliminated the need for the tractor to be in neutral.

Personally, I would not buy a tractor with no clutch, if I ever had a chance of needing to use some implement like a post hole digger. AND since I have failed multiple times at prediction the future, I would therefore NEVER buy a tractor larger than a BX if it did not have a clutch. But this is just me...

In case I was not clear, if I do not push in the clutch with my B2910 it will not start...period.

Same with my 1993 B1750 HST. Clutch must be depressed but tractor will crank in either range.

Not same with my L6060 (no clutch), B3350 (no clutch), either of which will crank in any range so long as the hydro pedal is centered or M9960 (has "clutch" but no need to depress to crank). The 9960 will crank in either range or any geat without depressing the clutch so long as the hydraulic reverser is in neutral.

All seems appropriate to me.

Interesting about your BX2200. I had a BX23 (2006) and it would also start in any gear range if I remember correctly. Agree with others, treadle peddle had to be in "neutral".

I don't think I was remembering correctly...Strike that.
