I got this loader that was sitting outside for years. I got the up down valve working good, the tilt is pretty hard to move and it sticks at the end of travel. I oiled the outside of it not much change. Anything i can do to get it working smoothly without taking it apart? I have not used it much at all. Maybe thats what it needs? This is the loader

If its not the linkage and the spools are sticking probably need to remove the end caps and clean up the positioners. DO NOT polish the spools. Good news is thats acsimple valve and easy to replace if things are pitted.

Ya, on older machines, you're going to be dealing with wear in the valve linkage. Pins get worn, holes get wallered out.

Excessive wear is common and results in slop in the linkage which DOES make operation difficult...been there, done that.

Many of the parts may still be in stock at dealers. [They were for my LB400 loader...]

Thx Paul yea also discovered my loader arms leak down in about 5 minutes too. No external links. So either the valve or cylinders? Wouldnt both cylinders have to be leaking for it to go down? I think i know how to test which one is the problem, valve or cylinders but not which cylinder if its only one leaking.
Im hopin its the valve and i can kill two problems at once. new one that works good for reasonable price. Maybe an upgrade? Any suggestions?

Its the valve. Bad seals in the cylinders cant cause boom leakdown. They will cause loss of lifting power.

Thx thats good news. My Waldon has self leveling function and i love that for the work i do and would really like that. Can i get a joystick valve with that function built in? Didnt see that on the one you gave link for but not sure. It also needs to have float function.

The Summit valve has a float position as a configuration option. You also need to purchase the power beyond conversion sleeve which is sold ala carte. No self leveling

Do I understand that your 1630 has self-levelling? If so, how is it accomplished? My TL720 has it, it's really more of an anti-backdump, but it uses links along the boom to actually move the joystick curl as the boom is raised above a certain level. I don't see any links on your loader.

No self leveling on a B1630. No regen either. A very basic loader and valve.

No my waldon 5000 loader has hydraulic self leveling. I was hoping to get hydraulic self leveling valve for my upgrade on my 1630 but doesnt look doable easily or cheap that ive found so far. Thought u could just buy a valve that had all those functions built in.
