Limb circular hydraulic saw

Hi Guys,

I wanted to see if someone could help me. I have a Kubota Grand L 6060 50th anniversary. I want to purchase a limbsaw circular hydraulic saw. It says it requires 10gpm flow but mine is at 9.4gpm. I will not be steering while cutting. I also have a 3rd function as well. My question is, do I have enough juice to run this saw on an 8ft boom arm? Should I be concerned with heat? I posted the link below for anyone that wants to see exactly what I am purchasing. Thanks in advance for any information you guys can give.

I suggest you contact the manufacturer and ask what the "real-world" performance numbers are when the loader is at or near max height.

Thanks. I love that tractor. Its the perfect size for me. Anything larger and I would get in trouble haha.

I apologize if this is a dumb question, but does a 3rd function add any additional gpm? I'm guessing no since that would have to do with the pump.

I will confess that I haven't got into the weeds with 3rd functions despite having them on three tractors, but they're just an electronically controlled valve that diverts oil to whatever needs it up front.

Thr pump determines the tractors flow rate (GPM). Flow varies linearly with RPM and Kubota specs the flow based on maximum engine RPM. So in yoir case you will get a maximum flow of 9.4 GPM with the engine running at max RPM. Slow the engine down and flow will decrease proportionslly. At half max speed flow will be half of 9.4. GPM. And as flow rate drops so does the speed of the saw - also proportionally.

Thats best case. If you are trying to operate the loader at the same time as the saw the loader will be competing for some of that flow and with an open center hydraulic system things get very messy. In short its marginal at best and not going to work well.

You could buy a PTO driven power pack to run the saw; you enough HP.

Overkill. One of these, a 10 gallon reservoir and two hoses will give him the needed flow with room to spare. Dont even need a control valve - just use the PTO to start and stop the saw.

I thought this site was all about overkill.
I would consider a PTO power pack to be able to run other things too - like a severe duty loader mounted rotary cutter and etc.

Funny. I was just thinking the PTO pump and tank would solve most if not all of the problems associsted with the Lane Shark FEL rotary cutter and for less money than all the crazy switches and valves they sell as work arounds.

Not to mention overkill gets expensive.

Why would I need to do that? I don't have any questions re the 3rd function.
