Hello,
I am new to this forum. I just took delivery of a L3800 DT with a LA524 Loader. I also have a L245 DT with FEL that I have used for years.
The L245 will pick up as much weight as the L3800. I want to increase the pressure on the LA524 loader. Can anyone tell me how to do that on the LA524? Thank you.

Only way to increase the loader pressure is to up the relief psi on the whole tractor via shimming the relief valve spring. You might get the dealer to check the pressure to be sure its set properly before taking matters into your own hands.

Ditto what bandaidmd stated. Altering hyd relief valve pressure could affect warranty if dealer caught on to the alteration.

Yes check your pressure first. I believe your valve is under the floorboards under the right hand side. The relief will likely screw in from the bottom. Proceed with caution. Kubota uses shims for setting pressures so you will need to add shims to increase pressure.

Keep in mind outside temperature. If it is freezing the hydraulics need time to warm up. The book says up to 30 min.

You may need to increase RPM's too. I normally work at around 1800 RPM, but if I need to pick up some heavy stuff I go to 2,500 RPM.

I had the pressure increased for me FEL at my 50 hr check up. I did post somewhere about it here, I don't remember which one. But the service manger did ask me what rpm's do I run the tractor ? I said like 1800-2000 I think, he said for maximum hydraulic power for lifting I needed to run the rpm's up to the '540'PTO on the tach.....he checked the presser and shimmed the valve. Someone here(in the other post) said the amount of extra lift I gained was very minimal like #150 lbs or something. I was hoping for a lot more. But if you find the other post you can read the specs.

I did check my pressure yesterday. It was 2,400 PSI at about 2200 RPM. The RPMs did make a difference - PSI increased some with RPM. I did not consider the air temperature - The air temperature was about 38 degrees. The tractor had only run about 10 minutes when I checked the PSI. I did locate the relief valve - it is under the right floorboard. I plan on leaving the PSI alone - it is right with the facory spec. I may check the PSI one more time with everything up to temperature.
I appreciate all the replies. I really enjoy this forum. Thanks again!
