L6060 bucket options

I have an L6060 with the LA1055 loader. I want to sell my L2245 4n1. Tired of dealing with hydraulic hoses, want to switch attachments from inside the cab. I’m thinking of getting the L2296 HD round back. It has the blade option which I like. I mainly move dirt and rock from one location to another over distances I don’t want to travel with the SVL. I have a seperate mulch bucket but it has more of a low skid steer type profile and so has a longer bottom which the loader does not like, even though I can make it work.
I’m not a rookie equipment operator. I feel like my loader can handle more dirt/rock than the L2245 as long as the geometry is right - as in short bottom and higher back.
Was wondering what others are using and why? Has Anyone tried something like an M1811 bucket? Even though it’s sold on the 70HP tractors?

I have both of the buckets you mention i.e. the L2296 for the MX, and the M1811 for the M6060. I've used the M1811 on the MX and immediately noticed how much heavier the bigger bucket feels on the MX when it's full of dirt.

I removed the factory cutting edge from the L2296 and installed it on the M1811. I then added an Everything Attachments Wicked cutting edge to the L2296.

MCMII, would you advise if the cutting-edge on your bucket would scrape small saplings at the ground..?? I have an acre of 1”, 2” and 3” mesquite and persimmons I‘d like to clear. Otherwise, I’m probably looking at hiring or renting a bobcat I suppose….

I don't know. I've never used it to cut roots, saplings and such. The factory straight edge that I moved to the M1811 probably wouldn't, but the EA cutting edge on the L2296 probably would. Tractor speed would play a part too.

The bottom photo shows the factory straight edge and EA Wicked tooth bar.

Thanks. I found a YT video where a guy used his to shear/dig out poplars one to two inches… but poplar and mesquite are pretty different

I have the 72" roundback bucket with factory cutting edge that I use for dirt and gravel. The tractor handles a heaped bucket of either just fine.

I was hoping to make that point with my comment about the M6060 bucket on the MX. I think the L2296 HD bucket is really well matched to the MX600/L6060 and similar sized tractors. Unless I'm moving some light material I much prefer the L2296 bucket on the MX.

You will do no good against mesquite by cutting them off at ground level, unless you are trying to get multi-trunk versions of mesquite.

I have had some luck with pulling the small ones but that is in a riparian area with deep clay dirt. The other thing that worked was using a trencher next to the trunk and cutting them off about five or six inches below ground. Really cut them off below the root ball is what I was doing.

I have been shredding them down but they just keep coming back from that. But of course that is not at ground level like you are trying to do.

Where you are at it may be quite difficult to get a hole below the root ball.

I’ve had a 30-yr battle with mesquite and it took ten years to get my 3400 X 150 foot runway cleared of it. You’re correct…cutting mesquite simply results in a mesquite-Shrub popping up a month or two later.
However….if your Spray the little shoots while young with RoundUp/Diesel it kills them. That’s how I won that war.
The difference is the runway only had those shoots because the runway was mowed 3 or 4 times per year. That won’t work in some acreage I have with 10-20 year young trees every 15-20 feet.
If I can bulldoze them I an spray the stumps and any pop-up shoots with RoundUp/Diesel.
