L3800 Trans Fluid Check

Anyone had any issues checking trans fluid. Sometimes mine shows in sight glass and sometime it doesn't.

Tractor has to be level. Mine shows overfull with the front of the tractor slightly downhill and and nothing with the front slightly uphill.

If you can see oil in the sight glass, even sometimes, then the tractor will be fine.

There is a large "fudge factor" in the HST transmission and even more in the geared.

I say there is no problem.

Now, if you can never see fluid then remedial action is required.
