Hi all.
Afraid I'm a newbie to all this but recently purchased an ageing 345 to look after a few acres of paddock for the better half's horses. It seems a decent unit although there are a few bits to sort which I'm working through as and when i get time.
First up was a total lack of electrics which i've partially sorted - still need to get the headlights working but at least have power to the dash now and the oil and charge lights are operational. Next on the list is the rev counter (or tacho) which seems to be a faulty cable.
I'm struggling to find a replacement, probably due to not knowing the part numbers - guessing i need to source a parts manual so hoping someone can advise on this please? I have found one on eBay that looks pretty much the same. Listing says it fits an MF and the seller doesn't know if it will do a Kubota- the length is right but not sure about the thread sizes at each end...
Hoping to look at the hydraulics this weekend as the 3pl is struggling to lift the 5ft topper i brought for it. Works fine without load and the oil level is okay (i did have to add a few litres) - planning to check the filter to start with but thinking it may need a bit more than this.
Great forum by the way - already learning a lot from reading through the threads, so helpful for people like me :)

I see you are in the UK so you may have to find the appropriate Kubota website for your country or region.

They have an illustrated parts list that will provide the part number of the cable. Be sure you have your tractor serial number handy since some parts are different above some serial numbers.

Then you can order it from a dealer or online depending upon your location.

You can try Messicks in the USA for a similar parts list but I have seen that Kubota website is not available to foreign IP addresses.
I can look into the part numbers if you can’t but am on iPad and Kubota does not like them on their website so let me know if you want the information and I can crank them up on a PC

Is your tachometer cable actually broken? If that's the problem you may be able to pull the cable itself out of the sleeve and replace it with the inner part for a generic automobile speedometer cable. Check with your local auto parts store.

Thanks Russell. I'll try looking at the Kubota UK website to start with (think i tried this before but didn't spend a lot of time on it in all honesty).
If that fails i can try Messicks via a VPN, - should be able to connect to a US server and bypass the IP block.
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!

Thanks Roadworthy.
It is the cable that's broken, in fact the inner cable is completely missing so i can only assume the previous owner has been investigating and given up...

I may just buy the one i found on eBay and hope for the best, if the inner cables are fairly generic i should be able to use this if the outer fittings don't match by the sounds of it - for the sake of £10 its worth a punt i guess.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

They often fail around 1500 hours - the sleeve is sometimes also damaged inside where the cable breaks - toward the front end where the bend is sharper. Your local UK Kubota dealer should be able to supply the assembly - part no. 35340-34650
