Hi, newbie here. Glad I found this site, great info for sure. I have a L3240. I was bushhogging and noticed a smell like the tractor was getting hot. Temp gauge was about 3/4 of the way over. The tractor missed once and died. I thought it was just hot but came back later and still wouldn't crank. After reading some here, I removed fuel bowl and cleaned out some trash and water. Still nothing. I tried to bleed everything but I'm not getting fuel out of where the injector lines screw on at opposite ends from injectors. I unscrewed the little round knob and have fuel to there but its not coming out to the injector lines. Help anyone?

First off, I'm not familiar with the 3240.

However, if you found trash and water in the bowl then a couple of things come to mind generically.

Take a sample of the bottom of the fuel tank by using tubing and your finger to trap the fluid. Drop it into a glass jar to look for water and junk in the bottom of the tank.

Next from the tank you should replace the fuel filter.

Next the fuel pump and injection pump (I'm assuming here). Injection pump vent clear? Was the burning smell the injector pump overheating?

That's where I would start.

Hi Sawfiler, I had a similar experience with my L3400HST. Was lifting a mower from a pickup truck with the front end loader, then suddenly the tractor died. Thought fuel filter was dirty. I emptied the fuel bowl, put in new fuel filter, bled the fuel line... still no fuel coming out of the ejector. Make the long story short, it was my fuel shut off solenoid that was functioning irractically. A brand new fuel solenoid was put in, the tractor started with no problem so far. I am a novice in this tractor operation and not familiar with the L3240. I just want to describe my problem that may be of help to you. Does the L3240 have a fuel solenoid? If so, you may want to check its operation. Key to ON, should have a loud click, then turn key to OFF, there should be another loud click. If there is no click at either key position, then it may have some thing to do with the solenoid or the electrical to the solenoid.
