My 2003 L3130 HST shut down a couple of times while mowing. it was about 45 min after start starting. machine started back up and was able to finish. all switches check ok according to how the owners manual says to check them except seat switch. started looking at seat switch. I started the machine and engaged PTO stood up and it stays engaged. I can stand and move the machine around. Not long ago I could not do that. I can unplug the switch and machine runs fine . workshop manual I found online at kubota books I cant even find the seat switch in wiring diagram or any info on testing. Would appreciate any thoughts.

My experience is usually seat switches are normally open energized closed. Use your continuity tester to check your seat switch. You can be out of the seat for a short while before the ECU detects an operator switch fault. The machine should let the motor run if the seat switch is open but it should cut the engine after a short interval if you start driving.

If you can drive around a long time with no seat switch connected you might have a dead short or a pinched wire somewhere telling the ECU the switch is operating.

Trace the wires and harnesses back to the ECU or intellipanel.

If the mower is only owner operated, unplugging seems like a reasonable option.
