The steering box on my L260 has gone bad. I know this is a weak part on these models so I was thinking of switching it to hydraulic steering. I can find some aftermarket stock replacement assemblies, but the reviews on them are terrible, failing after 10 hours.
Anyhow, I wanted to see if anyone has switched theirs to hydraulic or power steering and has any pointers or suggestions?

Thanks!

Mike

Well, I went ahead and ordered an assembly off of eBay. Guess I didn't look at the pics close enough, but they don't fit the L260. Says it fits up to the L245, so I assumed it would fit this one too.
When I took it all apart the only thing really wrong was the ball races were bad. Water had gotten in, at least in guessing that's what caused it. I was able to find the ball and race kit on Amazon and I ordered the top and bottom bearings and some deals from Messicks to rebuild mine.

How’d it turn out? Was it worth the time?
