L2402 DT clutch replacement question.

Hi all, and thanks for having me...

I am in the process of replacing my clutch on the Kubota L2402DT, it is an import...

Scenario:
- I split the tractor, removed the clutch, fly wheel, bearings etc all good.
- When pulling the rear axle back, to create more space between the front and back, I noticed on wheel (left when facing forward) sort of locked up as in very hard to move.

Question:
Is it normal for one wheel to "lock up" (by lack of better word) or is there something not quite wright....

Is the trans in gear? Is the Diff lock engaged? That's about all I can think of. Good luck

Hi Ranger Danger... Thanks for your reply.
To the best of my knowledge neither are in gear, I will check the diff lock pretty sure it is not in diff either.

I assume that if it is in diff lock the both would be hard to move not just one. But that is an assumption on my part really.

Your description is somewhat unclear to me. I think you are saying the rear differential is still pulled back and separated from the engine. If the differential is supported and the tires are clear of the ground I can visualize turning one wheel turning the transmission. You would get some resistance but shouldn't feel much as turning the tire gives you a lot of leverage against the transmission with no engine connected to provide resistance whether it's in gear or not. I could be misunderstanding the situation, though.

Thanks for the response... I got it figured out.
The back and front were separated just as you do with a clutch replacement. One of the wheels was very hard to move.

I jiggled, rocked and occasionally cursed at it. That solved the problem and after that I could move it in ok. From what others have said it might have slipped into "gear".

Anyway.. all is back together now and happy with it, thanks again for your response.
