Hi,

I have an L225 tractor with an FEL that I've owned for almost 30 years. It's been an amazing machine that I've had few issues with. Recently, I'm having hydraulic oil leaking out of both the shift lever and the PTO lever. It only seems to happen when the RPMs are higher. I read in another thread that there could be a vent that has become plugged. That particular thread was for a different model, but I'm questioning if I could have a similar issue. My experience with vents on engines is with small engines such as Tecumseh where there is a plate with a small tube attached. I've been searching through the hydraulic system and transmission area and am unable to find anything that looks like that or any form of vent.
I'm wondering if there are any other owners that have run into the same issue.

Thanks

The vent is supposed to be the transmission case fill plug. You can loosen it up and run the tractor to see if it resolves the problem. I guess you can remove it and just use a rag to keep stuff from falling in and oil from splashing out.

The cap supposedly has a hole from the bottom that meets another hole that is drilled horizontally through the vertical finger tang (grip).
