Hello from a very rural part of upstate New York, USA!
Part of the reason no one has offered any advice is that your tractor is what is known as a "Gray Market" tractor here.
Japanese machines were illegally shipped to the US. A dealer will not service nor sell parts for a gray market tractor in the US.

That said, there are some commonalties between some US and Japanese models. Looks like your L2201 crosses with an USA L245:

There are some great sources for Workshop Manuals. Remember you're looking for L245.....there may be some differences in your L2201, but the cross is generally good.

HINT, HINT....I did see an L245 "Shop Manual" on the Manuals Library site....price is right.....just hoping it's accessible to you in France.

That's all great advice and I'm very grateful. The tractor is all working fine, so I'm sure the 245 manual will aid me to check fluid levels etc. This enquiry was triggered by the hydraulic pump getting noisy when operated - I expect it just needs oil. It will be interesting to discover wether the L2201 is regarded as a grey import in Europe too. There are certainly Japanese cars that are. Many thanks, and keep safe.
