Good evening folks-

I've got a L3710 running a L-2052-1 snow blower. I finally got it all hooked up and running this evening, but when I tested out the blower, the chute seemed to get clogged up with snow.

I don't think I was running at the proper RPM's, so I cleaned out the chute and gave it another try at high RPM's this time. But it still seems to get all clogged up.

Is there a trick? Is it like my junior prom...I just need to lube the chute a little? I took a look at the chute and surrounding area and there appears to be nothing out of place that would be obstructing the snow output.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Scott

I don't have that blower but I've had mine clog. It happened when the temperature was around freezing. The auger turned into a white cylinder and the chute packed solid. In less than an hour, the temperature dropped several degrees and it was almost like a magic repair. When the temps are borderline it seems to work better with the RPM's up.

Something you can try is spraying the chute with something like pledge spray wax or even wd 40 or sillycone, I have heard that spray oil for cooking works as well, and slow and easy is the ticket, and keep the RPMs up. With dry snow its not a real problem,, wet heavy stuff take smaller bites

Scott - certainly helluva lot bigger than my blower...is that 5-6 feet wide?
Was it wet/sloppy stuff like chim asked?
First, double-check your impellor - make sure shear bolts are right, etc.
Second, keep RPM’s up like chim said.
Third, you may need to slow down. A big blower like that is moving a LOT of snow through a pretty small space (chute). Once it starts to get restricted, everything just backs up and plugs.
I just posted in another thread that I think mine has plugged twice in 4 seasons. (But several other times if I broke a shear bolt)
Good luck!!

Thanks for the replies gents. The temp was hovering around freezing, so I was probably pushing too hard. I'll give the chute a spray and slow it down.

Thanks again for the replies. Merry Christmas!
