Hey all, question on my L185

It's back on mowing duty for my small two acre field, with a 5' Woods finish mower.
Does fine, mowed a few times this year, but today it had an issue.

Got ~ halfway done and it bogged a little, then surged - rpm dropped til it almost died then it jumped back up, repeat.
Disengaged the PTO, raised the deck, and limped her back to the barn.

Waited ~15 min and she cranked right back up, was hopeful so I moved her out of the barn, engaged the deck and the engine died. Restarted and it died again after a couple seconds. Fortunately I managed to limp back into the barn, took a few restarts.

Machine has ~850 hours on the clock. I replaced the fuel, air, and oil filters ~100 hours ago. Removed the fuel cap to make sure it wasn't a venting problem, and it's got ~ half a tank of diesel left.
I wouldn't be surprised if the rubber fuel lines are original, assuming I should start there.
Thoughts? Best diesel rated hose?

old pic, I've kept the field at least moderately tamed since then.

Mine died a few times on me...
Ended up that the interior of the tank was rusting away and the rust was clogging the fuel line.

Take the line off that goes into the fuel filter housing and see if you have much flow out of that line. If not blow a little (low pressure) air back toward the tank and be prepared for the fuel flow.

Do NOT have the fuel cap off of the tank. It makes a mess of things if you don’t have it on!

There is a guy on here 007kubotaguy that has some of the tanks probably.

I sealed mine with a epoxy tank repair kit. Still holding after a few years. I would have bought one but didn’t know he had them until after I was invested in the repair.

?? wonder if fuel line clog was problem.
My thought that possibly stuff wrapped around deck blades stalled PTO and engine.
Has happened to mine.
