I found this L175, and even though I probably won't buy it, I am curious. The seller says it needs brakes, and I know that could mean a lot of different reasons why it needs brakes, but what is the usual culprit on a L175 brake problems?

As you can see it's in rough shape and the right front tire is shot.

Curious where is it for sale? I don't see many listed.

My 1st Kubota was a L175DT around Middleburgh NY in the late 70's bought from Dave Gaynor in Cherry Valley NY.

Great and powerful tractor for the size. Moved up to a 345DT after that - no loader. Then a L3600DT with a loader and now an M6800 with a loader and winch.

It's for sale on FB Marketplace in Missouri. I'm not a big fan of the fat turf tires that's on it, but it is what it is. As I said, I probably won't pull the trigger on it, but I do like the older L series Kubotas, I almost bought a L185DT a few month back. Instead I bought a Ford 1310 4WD, but those older L series Kubotas cross my mind still.

Nothing unusual about the brakes. Only problem I had with mine is the "0" ring on the backing plate wore out and that let dirt in, that led to the brake pedal not wanting to return after the brakes were applied. Cleaned it all up, replace the ring, problem solved. At the time it had turf tires on it which I replaced with R-4's. Brakes themselves had plenty of life left on them.
