Kubota RCK60B-23BX Gearbox

I'm having a hard time removing the gearbox to change out a damaged shaft. Can someone help tell me what I'm doing wrong? i can not get the boss spline off.
I don't know if the damaged shaft is preventing it from coming off. Any advice would be appreciated

There is a spring clip that needs to be removed on the bottom side. Remove the cup and you should see it.

BTW, the shaft does have up and down play. It’s normal, not a bad bearing.

I had an issue with my gearbox last year. Turned out to be just a shim that was damaged. Shim was $4. Had the gearbox rebuilt with a new shaft. Cost me $450 to get it done at the dealership. A new gearbox is around $1500.

yeah i removed the clip and it still won't come out. I think the shaft being messed up is preventing it from coming off. I just wanted to make sure it isn't something different. Thank you
