Hello everyone,
First time posting.

I currently have a M7040 (front loader/backhoe) that I bought a year ago to do extensive landscaping work in the backyard. Now that the heavy lifting is done, I am looking at getting a subcompact to finish and maintain the yard.

I'll be honest, after lots of research, I have almost decided on the Massy gc1725mb due to the capacity numbers, higher HP @ lower rpms, backhoe "float" feature, higher implement hyd flow rate.

However, the only available two dealers are closed at 5pm weekdays, and not open on weekends. whereas Kubota is next to my work and has much more accommodating hours. Plus my M7040 has been a great, problem free machine that has put a smile on my face, so I can't knock the reliability of kubota.

Hydraulic operation is huge to me, smooth and fast is what I am looking for. second will be PTO hp. I want to be able to run a tiller

What are you guys doing (if at all) to increase hyd. gpm?

I have noticed that the Deere guys have figured out a flow divider setup to gain better hyd. performance
and there is a fella out there that is giving turbo kit a shake down test at the moment.

I know this will jeopardize warrantee but lets put that issue aside for now.

Are there common hydraulic and Hp upgrades for the BX23?

Thanks.

If you get a regular tractor like LX or L I think you are going to be frustrated with flow rate, esp if that's a thing for you. A B26TLB will have 11 gpm flow rate, vs a regular tractor that has around 8. I believe they do this on the TLB by adding an additional hydraulic pump in the circuit (i think). Overall, the machine is a lot more robust. It'll be smaller than your M70, still be able to turn a tiller with 19 PTO HP

Tangentially, I have had two VERY bad experiences with MF (company and dealers (2), rather than machines) and have vowed NEVER to again have anything to do with AGCO or MF.

That said, the small MF machines are made by ISEKI, and, I have nothing bad to say about ISEKI.

FWIW, I, too compared the MF SCUTs to the BX series a few years ago, finding the ISEKI product superior in multiple respects.

Know of no "upgrades" to the BX series aside from factory offered options.

Flow rate is a big deal in many operations.
The B26 TLB machines DO have TWO hydraulic pumps (11 gpm), while the L47 TLB & M62 TLB each have 3 pumps..
My L48 TLB also has 3 pumps, and a 25.9 gpm flow rate.

Ah!! I knew I read somewhere that some had three pumps.
I think flow rate is something "you don't know you don't have", and when you have it, there is no going back. This is why I am not stepping foot on a L48TLB :ROFLMAO:

Others have also documented bad experiences with MF dealers and AGCO.

I always cross shop MF with Kubota (among others) while tractor shopping. I really like the MF product, especially the GC1725MB (and 1835M) which I’ve test driven and came incredibly close to purchasing.

If you’re buying on capability alone, you’ll buy the MF. For me, even though I have a good MF dealer, my Kubota dealer is great, and has taken care of me very well over the past several years making their tractors far more competitive to the competition. Plus, Kubota Orange has a much better resale in my area.

3 years ago I went into the local MF dealer, cash in pocket,w anted what was on the floor, sales guy was fixin a chainsaw, 1/2 hr later I drove over to Galer and bought the BX23S in minutes.

OK I only have 700+hrs on my BX23S ,but it hasn't lacked power..for it's size !!

So I have to ask...Why do you need more GPM of hydraulics ??

because you cant have fast and smooth at 6 GPM

'hydraulic operation ' doesn't ANSWER my question.
and YES you CAN have fast and smooth at 6 GPM, it all depends on what you designed and built,BTDT. wearing another hat, I cut code to control hydraulic systems

There is NO information as to WHAT the OP is using 'hydraulics' for

dude, what aren't you getting here?? He said he has a backhoe. Talk to ANYONE who has used a real backhoe (like a mini ex), and ask them how it's different from the hoe on their LX or B. Two entirely different operations.

he said.... Now that the heavy lifting is done, I am looking at getting a subcompact to finish and maintain the yard. ..
Seemed to imply he no longer needs the 'big machine or BH'....

then I focused on his last sentence...
Are there common hydraulic and Hp upgrades for the BX23?

I assumed he wants loader and mower NOT a BH as that'd be a BX23S

Yes If he wants a FAST machine(digging NOT travel), buy a MIDUex... a miniex(-41 isn't that much faster than the BX23S,least not the one I ran for 6 years.
