I have a 2017 L6060HSTC with dual rear remotes. The manual says one is a "Double acting valve and the other is a Double acting valve with float position. I have a three-point Land pride snowblower that had hydraulic chute rotation option. It worked fine on the one remote. I added hydraulic chute tilt control to the second remote and it will only work in one direction. I switched remotes and the chute tilt work fine, but the rotation only worked in one direction. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to change the hose position, or could there be something wrong with the remote?
Thanks

So you are saying the chute tilt works fine on either remote valve, but the rotation does not work fine on either remote valve?

Sounds like the issue is with the rotation device that you added to the blower, and not with the valves.

BUT I came to this limited conclusion after reading your post three times.

Please clarify so others who can actually give you some help will have clear details to react to.

Sorry for the confusion. Both the chute rotation and tilt work on the double acting valve when I connect t the hoses for that function to that remote. They both only work in one direction with the double acting valve with float. The control lever for the float valve works when I move it forward. Nothing happens when I move in rearward to reverse the action of either. The problem is with the double acting valve with float. Not sure what the problem is.

Sounds like you may be moving the lever too far. A DA valve with float has 4 positions. If you move the float valve too far in one direction you will skip the position that actuates the cylinder and go into the float position. In that position the cylinder is unlocked and does not move under hydraulic power. Try moving the lever a shorter distance and see if that solves your issue.

Thanks Dan, I give that a try. I've had the tractor for 2 years and never hooked up anything to that remote.

I think Dan probably nailed it.

I have float on one of my rear remotes, but there is definitely a detent that I have to push past to lock the lever in float. Then the lever stays in the float position until I pull it out of the float position.

So my question would be: Is it normal for a valve with float position not to lock itself into float until the lever is pulled out of the float position?

I do not remember for sure, but think my loader valve also locks itself in the float position until I pull the lever out of float position.

So perhaps your valve is defective if it does not hold itself in float position when you push it into that position.

I guess what I am trying to say, is, if the control valve does not stay in float when you push the lever into float, this may indicate a problem with the valve...

I tried it today and after a while it started moving. Is it possible there is air in the system? If I run the RPMS up on the tractor, it will function properly, but at a slower rate in that direction.

Air will be purged really quickly so that is not likely. And we are talking hydrulic cylinders not motors here right?

DA single rod cylinders move at different speeds depending on direction of actuation - extend is slower than retract.

Holding RPM constant how long does a full stroke take in each direction?
