i thought I had posted earlier to check that your lift pump runs full time. I'm thinking your injector pump has enough suction to pull fuel through everything but that final filter. But needs the lift pump to supply enough pressure to get through the filter.
Also, does your model have the primer valve on the injector pump? Open it to purge the air and close it after it's purged.
It's my thought as well, but what would cause / explain that the pump doesn't have enought suction to go through the final filter ?

Yip I have the primer valve, purge done several times, with the same result.

It wouldn't indicate a failure of the injector pump. My L35 has a lift pump and it only has a single filter/separator. It would confirm the need for the lift pump to run full time.
