Hello from Sweden 👋

New here, to Kubota and compact tractors in general

Been looking for a kubota b7100 HST or a similar model for months and months. Couple of weeks ago I finally found one near me in, what I think, pretty good shape (for being a 1985) with cab, cab heating, hydraulic front 2 stage snowblower and sand/salt spreader with "the right price" here in northern Sweden.

I have a lots of questions but lets start with most important ones before winter is here:

1. Chains
Is it right that you should always use chains on all 4 tires when in 4WD? And chains should be of same model/make?

I have been told those chains would be perfect for traction and steering, what do you think?

2. Rear wheel hubs
Does this looks to be same rear wheel hubs you guys think is a good choice? Its hard and expensive for me to order from US so this is the best I could find in Europe

3. Brakes
What do you think about these breakpads, No need to order a new one right?

Hello fellow B7100HST owner! Good choice for a tractor - although it may be a challenge operating without power steering!

With regard to your questions:
  1. I do not operate where it snows, but running in 4WD probably is a must for your conditions. Be aware that if the chains you add cause the rolling diameters to mismatch between the front and rear too much you can bind the 4WD system and cause problems. If you're off pavement and there is enough slip (probably a certainty in winter/ice/snow) then it should power through any mismatch.
  2. That is the "upgraded" wheel hub. It is plenty strong. Be sure to grease or put anti-seize material on the locking wedge mechanism so you do not get rust seizing it after a few seasons of wet and salt.
  3. The brake shoes appear to have good material. Clean, install, and adjust as appropriate.

Hello and a very late thanks

4wd was definitely a must for me during winter! And this winter i will try out the chains too, not that it is absolutely needed but with a steep long driveway like this it will definitly help against spinning and sliding 😁

I will never use salt in the spreader, only 4-8 mm gravel/sand 🙂

Seller said those chain are ok regarding rolling circumference

Tractor was working awesome, so damn nice sittning inside a warm cab instead of walking behind a snowblower when having this area and amount of snow to remove. Really fun too.

Only thing is that i had to drive ridicoulusly slow (not even lowest setting on cruise control is slow enough) othervise snowblower piling up instantly, i guess its a bit tooo little GPM for a hydraulic driven snowblower 😐 Still, very very happy with the machine

I bought a hydraulic front mounted snowblade couple months ago which i think will speed up things a bit when its only smaller amounts of snow to move

Regarding power steering iam very furtunate to have that on my b7100, so steering is great

Sorry for all the dirt, first time opening up there 😀 Looks like something have been leaking 🧐

Iam gonna do a full service now which should have been done earlier

I have not started the tractor in like 4 months and it is unfortunetly stored outside…. Before starting it is there anything else i should do except checking fluid levels?

And before changing oil, filter and fluids should i add for example
injector cleaner, engine cleaner, engine flush additive, transmission cleaner or such?

I bought kubotas hst/transmissionfilter, engine oil filter and fuel filter x2

Fluid i have to order and just wanna hear with you guys so i buy the right stuff

B7100 hst, 4wd from 1985,
Kubota super udt 2?
Kubota 10w30 super plus?
Kubota khd 80w90?
Kubota protekt coolant?

And do you have any tips on getting out as much old transmission fluid as possible? I will have it on jack stands so should be possibe to tilt it a little or higher/lower any side if that would help?

Colour on transmission fluid is red so i guess its not kubota fluid in it right now 😡

Also I have a hydraulic/transmission tank under tractor which takes 16 litre, so total transmission fluid is around 30 litre so i dont want to flush the transmission with new fluids if it is not a ”must”

And one last thing, is there any area/seal i should be more aware of? I dont want a leak after putting 30 liters new oil in it 😅
