I bought a cheap digital temperature gauge on ebay and cut a hole in the dash panel to mount it.

The sensor is crimped in an electrical lug and placed under a head bolt and the cable protected by split conduit

The back view. I also disposed of the old rectifier and replaced it with a common bridge rectifier to give me more room

The gauge is wired up to the ignition switch and after doing about 15 minutes of slashing it settled at about 86 deg c.

You must be pretty good with wiring to make that change. I have just purchased a L3450DT with 1400 hours. The temperature gauge on the dash board works for a short while showing normal temperature (half way between hot and cold) then it stops working (the needle drops to bottom of gauge). After a few minutes, it starts working again then stops working. CCan you suggest how to problem solve this?
