my tractor has had an issue with running badly intermittently with less then 1/2 a tank of fuel. i did the fuel filters the other day. i dont think the filters that i removed were OEM, seemed to be cheaper knock offs..... also the fuel filters were installed with the arrows in the wrong flow direction. arrow should pointing away from the fuel tank, because that's the direction of flow. both were installed incorrectly..... could this cause the issue, i would guess maybe.... i have to run the tractor until the fuel level drops, that could be over a month at the rate this thing burns fuel LOL

An inline filter installed backwards will filter just fine.... for awhile. But the surface-area is greatly reduced and its ability to capture water-droplets is compromised.

i called my dealer and told them i was having fuel system problems. they said replace fuel filters. i wonder if that fixed my problem. how does the fuel flow from the fuel tank to the engine on a BX2350? i have never had one of these apart so i really honestly dont know much. is the fuel drawn from the top of the tank through a sending unit like a car, or is it gravity fed from the bottom of the tank?

I cannot speak for your specific tractor... in general, the fuel is pulled thru an inline filter near the tank... then passes through an electric 'lift pump' which pushes the fuel towards the engine. At the engine, there is often another filter (much finer filtration) before the fuel enters the HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) and is distributed into the cylinders.

Their is also often a 'return line' which recirculates fuel back to the tank. You can almost think of it as a loop of fuel passing through the filters while the engine consumes some of it.
