I saw these three pintle hitch components for sale on Craigslist recently and turns out the guy who's selling them is the same guy that I bought a welding table and Schafer disc harrow from a few yeas ago. He's a Kubota nut and always seems to be selling something Kubota or Land Pride related.

$125 for all three is very reasonable and lot less than I paid when I converted the Schafer to a pintle hitch setup. I made up custom drawbars for the MX and M to work with a pintle hitch, but now I won't need to move the hitch between drawbars since I'll have a hitch for both.

Did ya buy anything else while you were there? If not I’d say $125 isn’t enough reason to stay off Craigslist!

I think the bigger problem is that sometimes things aren't as good a deal as they appear to be. $125 is fair and probably 75% to 80% of the cost of new, but it's not a great price. I used to buy stuff from a local auction house and would find myself buying things not because I needed them, but because they seemed like a great deal. That's a dangerous road to go down if getting "deals" becomes an obsession. There's some of that on Craigslist.

Must be a disease, I do the same thing. There's a local online auction that sells mostly household and furnishings but occasionally a pile of scrap iron, farm equipment or large shop equipment shows up and doesn't get many bids. You guessed it, even though I wasn't looking for one I just can't pass it up. 🤔

I suffer from a similar ailment sir.

Although I don’t regularly visit “Craigslist” per se, I have been known to buy tools/metal/parts/junk/guns/ammo, simply cause it's “supposedly” a “good deal”.;)

Unfortunately for us, I don’t think they have developed a “cure” yet.

Nice find though.(y)

I feel the same when I go into a Princess Auto up here in Canada, way to much stuff at bargain prices to just pass by. I,m getting to the stage at 76 years old that I have to keep reminding myself that I don,t fix as much stuff as I used to, and don,t need as big a supply of items as my repair time is dwindling.

I need a piece of steel plate…. 5/16” or 3/8” thick…. about 3” x 8” …. to weld to my B&W trailer hitch for friction anti-sway ball. (I previously used a piece of angle-iron to prevent bending during reverse….but it interfered with the pins which control the ball-height. Flat steel would work fine.)

I wonder if a piece of a leaf-spring might work…..
