Greetings and hello. I don't own a Kubota, my dad does, so I'm asking for him. I know little to nothing about them, in fact, except that they are useful.

My dad has a BT601 backhoe on the back of his tractor. The outriggers will not take any weight off the wheels when he puts them down, they just will not go down. The arm and bucket also move very slowly and seem to lack power, if that makes any sense. He says that this is because there are tabs on the control console that hold it down, and these are broken, so the controls don't move the way they should. Does anyone know what he is talking about, and if there is an easy fix for it? I can't even figure out the proper name for the thing to look for a used one to order. Any help would be great!

you can start by going here: https://apps.kubotausa.com/illustrated-parts/

type in BT601 to get to the illustrated parts list. You can likely find (and download) the workshop manual (WSM) for that backhoe as well.

You will need to begin by simply checking to make sure that hyd fluid is at the correct level and that the BH lines are connected properly. You may also want to pull the cover off of the BH control to see linkages are connected tightly. They do tend to work themselves loose and can prevent the valves from opening fully when the levers are worked.
