The L35 has 3 couplings on the main suction lines.
They are made of hose and are used to couple the steel lines feeding the two hydraulic pumps.
2 are for either side of the filter and 1 is for the power steering pump and FEL.

Anyway the point of this is that the symptoms were stuttering of the power steering and FEL. Sometimes the power steering didn't work at all. (Thanks to @lugbolt for making the diagnoses fast).
I was surprised that even a very tiny air leak will cause issues!

I haven't replaced the ones on the filter yet. Here is a pic of the parts I used and the price for anyone having these symptoms. Wildcatter is what I used. Also I won't use any other clamps having been spoiled by these.

Those look real nice. Want to replace the one coupling on the L4150 as well. did you just measure the OD of the suction pipe and get a piece cut to length? Or do they cross-match against the original part #?

Also what is the difference in the two sections on the left vs the one on the right? Looks like the 2 have a sleeve on them for protection?

I might be a little jealous of that welding fit up table too!

On my L35, the hose coupling for the Power Steering v the other two is a smaller ID.
Cross didn't have the braided line in that smaller size. These hoses are next to impossible to bend they are so stout. Both hoses also have wire reinforcement (spiral) - ask my bloody thumb!

I had the original (rusty junk) input pipe from the tractor and they simply matched the sizes.

I love the table. I bought it from below.

Both have been invaluable for fabrication.

There are more sections on the lines to/from the oil cooler. Leaks there can also let air in.
