I had a Kubota dealer replace the driveshaft and yokes on my F2000. This also involved replacing the hydraulic oil.
After mowing the yard, hydraulic oil over flowed. I assumed that they had put in too much. The overflow continued after each use. I looked into the oil reservoir and saw a lot of oil bubbles. The oil level is at a high mark on the dip stick.
Is this, perhaps, just a case of too much hydraulic oil?

Bubbles suggest it is sucking air. Check the suction line rubber hose and clamps #40 and 90. Really just check this whole area.

Thanks, Moots.

How would you check for this?
Check if they replaced the #120 o rings. Look over both rubber hoses, clamps in place and tight. Air leaks like this are hard to pinpoint as most times they will not leak fluid. It may just be over full, check level when cold and see where it’s at on the stick.

Also, I am assuming your 2000 is sorta like the 3680’s and 2690’s I keep up.

Yes, it's like the 2690...a much earlier version. It was likely built in 1986; I bought it new in April 1987.
The level is very high on the stick and did overflow quite a bit. It certainly was over filled. I'll check tomorrow AM to make sure.

See if you can locate a vent for the transmission and make sure it is not plugged up somehow.

There was no charge for O rings but they did no work in that area.
The level is over the top line on the stick. So, given the amount of oil lost, a lot of extra oil was added. Would this cause a problem, and could it be solved by dropping the oil level?

If they drained and replaced the hydraulic oil as your first post stated, they 100% should have done work in that area. Part #130 is the suction strainer and also the drain for the tank.

Shouldn’t cause a problem, just a mess, as you already know. Remove the oil till it shows correct on the stick. Go mow and report back.

My error in using "replaced" in connection with the hydraulic oil. They dropped the level to do the work on the drive shaft and then added oil.
I will drop the oil level and see what happens. If this does not solve the problem, would wrapping #s 40 and 90 with duct tape to see if that is where the air enters the system, is a good way of testing?

I tightened the clamps at 40 and 90 and ensured that the strainer was screwed in tight. Removed about 2 liters of oil using a baster modified with a length of tubing to drop the level to just below the high mark on the dip stick. Mowed the lawn, checked the tank and the bubbles are still there.
I would have replied sooner but the rain effects of hurricane Debby delayed mowing.

When you pump oil you get bubbles. Are you still having operational problems?

I did not have any operational problems as such; the old girl works well enough. I was worried about the oil and later bubbly oil overflowing.
